Which Keyword Research Tool Do You Use

March 6, 2009 by Breakaway

I have an upcoming post about keyword research for niche marketing, and I want to make sure I am not just preaching to the choir. I know there are multiple tools out there, and I also know it’s important to do your keyword research using multiple tools, and one may be wildly incorrect with regards to a certain type of search, or individual searches.

That was the problem with one of my sites when I first started. It’s #2 for it’s main keyword right now, which one of the keyword research tools said had like 1000 searches a day, when in fact, I maybe got 2 visits a day (and for being #2, that’s horrible.)

So, please help me to see where my visitors and followers do their keyword research:

What program do you use most often for keyword research?

I use a mixture of Google Keyword tool and Micro Niche Finder.

  2. Mixture of keyword spy and Google’s own keyword tool for me!

    What? No WordStream?

Maybe we’ll make it on the next list.

To be honest, I’ve never even heard of Wordstream…. I’ll contact you, and see if we can work out a deal to make you the star of your own list.

  5. Google AdWords Keyword Tool is, in my opinion, the best keyword research tool available. Not only does it do a great job of recommending keywords, but gives you insight about which keywords the competition is using…and paying for.

Keywords that have high search volume and low competition are ideal!

Yes, I have to agree, Google’s tool is the best. I also use the research tools within MSN adcenter as they provide valuable info on age and gender etc. I have ‘paid for’ tools such as Keyword Elite but I can’t remember the last time I used it!

I’ve been using micronichefinder It’s been a great tool for me. I use that along side google’s free keyword finder.

Before I create a blog post I use that to find deep keywords. So far it’s been an asset for me.
