Twitter Marketing: An Update

Back in December, I started using Twitter for the very first time.  (See: My First Day Using Twitter)  After having purposefully stayed away from Twitter, I realized the huge potential it had.

There have been quite a few tangible and intangible benefits of having created a Twitter account for Niche Titans, and using it to build connections and reach out to more people about niche marketing.

More Relationships
On my first day using Twitter, I was on it like ALL DAY.  But, in that time, I met two very cool people.  One person I have started a series of joint ventures with.  Another person has helped me to learn Twitter marketing better, and he’s cool to bounce ideas off of.

Those are connections I never would have had, and had randomly come across just that day.  I have met some other cool people, found some sweet links I may have never seen, and generally had a good time.

Ryan had a great post a little bit back about the importance of Relationship Marketing.  Twitter has definitely expanded my ability to create good relationships.  These few relationships I have already made I have already started projects with those people.

If you’re new to internet marketing or an old timer, you definitely cannot neglect Twitter.  It is here to stay and a very powerful resource for networking and marketing.

What have been your experiences with Twitter, and using it to build relationships and marketing?

Wow, I found you on twitter. December and you already have 5600+ followers. That is amazing. I also subscribed to your blog.

Great information, keep it up. I enjoy reviewing it.

The only problem I have with Twitter, is that the vast majority of followers who tweet–don’t actually come to the site and post comments, to add to the discussion. I know of one site that has 1008 followers on Twitter, but they get but a handful of comments to their blog, one of their articles went a week before someone (me) posted a comment.

Twitter is just beyond trying to draw people to your website. Yes, that may be the end goal, but just putting up a link won’t guarantee people coming to your site.

Instead, helping people and providing value on twitter will get people in your network. These people can provide possible valuable resources and tips you may not have known about, or they may become future customers, because you’ve built a relationship.

Guess the matter is that Mr.Breakaway sends a thank-u letter to each follower. It’s already a good reason to take a look at the site…where you discover at least dofollow option for comments…a good reason to RSS..And after scanning some new post you think, OK, why not commenting)))
I mean a great number of twitter followers can hardly be a great traffic source (unless you’re the US president). It’s rather the source of relationship like the author said, and perhaps a part of the whole marketing system.

I am starting with Twitter and finding my way around. It’s a bit overwhelming. I am getting lots of new followers daily but haven’t learned how to really market it correctly yet.

How do you use Twitter with Niche Blogs? Open many accounts?

Twitter is now one of my favorite social networking sites. I’m recommending it to a client. I appreciate all of your tips, tweets and the video on the ways to increase Twitter followers.

  6. Congrats
    on nailing this twitter technology.
This is my third attempt to post
so I will keep it very short as I am not sure
if I will get some error message again when I hit
    the submit button
