My Favorite Twitter Greasemonkey Scripts
When thinking what to name this Twitter Greasemonkey scripts post, I didn’t want to name it the “Top 5″ or “Best 6″ because I don’t know if these are the best or not. They are my personal favorites, and make my Twitter experience just a bit better.
I recently wrote about great greasemonkey scripts for Google Analytics. For those who don’t know, Greasemonkey is a Firefox addon which allows you to change functions of certain websites. Other users can share their scripts, so you can find some great tweaks for your favorite websites. (Get Greasemonkey Here).
So, here are my favorite Greasemonkey scripts for Twitter:
Twitter Search v2 (get it) – This little Greasemonkey script allows you to do a Twitter search directly from your home page. No need to click ‘search’ in the upper right hand side. You can even access the advanced search from the home page. (As of writing this, Twitter has been implementing this functionality to a sample section of Twitter users. But, why wait for them to implement it for everyone? Get it today!)
Unread Replied & Mentions (get it) – This script tells you how many replies you have from the home screen, so you don’t have to keep clicking the @Replies button to see if you have any recent replies. It also adds a @Mentions button underneath it, so you can click it to see who mentioned you (retweets, welcomes, multiple replies, etc…) that @Replies didn’t pick up because @yourname wasn’t the first word of the update.
Press Enter to Send Updates (get it) – This one is self-explainatory… it allows you to send your Twitter update by pressing Enter. I guess this one would be a personal preference of the user, but I really like it.
ReTweet This Button (get it) – This script adds a “ReTweet This button” underneath the “favorite” and “reply” buttons on each update in your stream. Clicking it automatically adds “RT @Their-name Their update” to your update window… (if you have the above Greasemonkey script, then all you need to do is press enter!)
Endless Tweets (get it) – When you are scrolling through the Twitter timeline (God forbid, you step away from Twitter for a minute) this Greasemonkey script will automatically load the next page, so you can keep scrolling down, without having to click “Older ->” inorder to see what you may have missed.
Twitter Text Hack (get it) – I don’t like the large, Lucide Grande text on my Twitter stream. This replaces it with a smaller (but still readable) Arial font.
I hope you enjoy these, and I hope that they add to your Twitter experience. If you haven’t followed us yet, please follow us on Twitter, @nichetitans, for great Niche Marketing tips…
