Using Article Writing for Basic Internet Marketing
If you haven’t already noticed, the internet is full of content and articles written about any subject that you can dream up in your pretty little head. Beauty advice? Check. How to repair a bicycle chain? Check. How to find products to deal with hair loss? Well, you get the idea. So to advance in marketing your company, it would be a wise and necessary choice to utilize the content in article writing to create further links for your site and cause you to rank even higher. It seems so simple…
First, you must write an article on a topic that relates to your site, products, or business. For example, if you are selling iPhone related products, then the article could be on the latest applications and downloads that are available to the iPhone, along with various ratings that other users have given them. Make sure that you choose a popular subject that people would want to read and link to.
From there, you can seek out the free article submission and directory sites that can post your article for you. You then want to add links to your site in the resources and bio section of the article that will all tie back to marketing your business. Within a few weeks, your article will be indexed in the catalogs by search engines like Yahoo and Google. When other fellow web goers begin to read your article, and it gains popularity, then other webmasters will include your article on their site with a link back to your site. Every time a webmaster uses your article and leaves the resource box in tact you receive a new backlink to your site using the anchor text you’ve chosen to help you rank on search engines for that keyword.
Another thing to remember when you submit multiple versions of an article is to make sure to spin each copy on a site like jetspinner so that there will be no duplicate articles going into the article directories. Also, be sure to change the resource and bio section per article so that it is always different as well. There are many other tools to help you check your spun articles, like dupecop or copyscape, which will show you a percentage of content difference so that you are not producing mass duplications.
If you are creative and have any easy time writing, then this can be a great way for you to promote and market your site using a basic article marketing strategy. The options out there are endless for article writing and content, so take your time and peruse through many of the article directories to get more ideas of articles that you can write for your own site. If you are looking for massive amounts of content to submit to these directories to further your business, then you may also want to consider outsourcing some of the article writing so that you can focus on adding the many articles to the free article directories to multiply your amount of links in no time!
And a few last words- make sure that you make the articles that you submit around three to five paragraphs, and brainstorm to use keywords that you are trying to target specifically within the topic. Search engines also like it when links are built organically, so it is best that if you will be submitting the same article to multiple directories that you do it over a period of a few weeks so that the links can build momentum at a more natural pace. With all this in mind, good luck and Godspeed!
How to Setup a Forum using phpBB
How to Setup a Forum using phpBB
Creating a forum for your blog or website gives your visitors a chance to interact with each other. If you’re using traditional methods to drive traffic it’s likely that most of your visitors are visiting your site for the same reason. This will also give you a chance to engage in topic conversation with individuals and allow all registered users to engage in the conversation if they are interested.
Once you have some registered users it’s best you give them a reason to continue visiting the forum. The best way to establish return visitors to your forum is to give those visitors some incentive, a reason why they want to return. The incentive you choose could be recent news, information, prizes, discounts or cash payments. It’s best you choose something that your visitors would appreciate and might encourage your visitors to invite their friends.
Yesterday I was the first time I created my own forum one of my sites. To be completely honest I thought it would be a lot more difficult to create. The truth is that most web hosts provide one-click installs such as Fantastico or Simple Scripts. To create a forum it’s as easy as logging in to your CPANEL and using Fantastico to install a phpBB forum.
I’ll keep the steps as simple as possible:
1. Install phpBB
- Log in to CPANEL
- Use Fantastico or Simple Scripts
- Install to /forums
- Create Admin User
2. Create Categories
- Create Subforums
- Setup User Permissions
3. Install a Style
- This will give your forum a Theme
- Add Logo to Banner
Start creating threads (topics) for your new forum.
Post a blog about your new forum that you’ve created so your visitors know about it.
Invite them to join your forum and maybe give them an incentive.
The most important thing… build a community that you enjoy!
Is Content King? Grammar, Spelling and SEO
Until recently I would just write content as fast as I could think of it and rarely proofread my content before I published it. Whether I was just a little too confident or lazy I suppose it doesn’t really matter. Allowing my content to have misspellings and grammatical errors not only lets down my readers but it can confuse them as well.
In a very competitive market every little bit matters and you definitely don’t want to lose your readers due to poor grammar and a few misspelled words. I haven’t personally experienced this but I’ve heard from others that too many grammar and spelling errors can result in search engine penalties. When search engines say that content is king it’s important you spend enough time on your content.
The real reason you need to proofread your content isn’t to avoid search engine penalties but to make sure you don’t lose readers because you’re careless. Your readers have to understand you and be able to grasp what you’re trying to say. Make sure your content is readable, stays on topic and makes sense.
Take into consideration how many current readers, subscribers, and Twitter followers you have lost or you may lose due to a small mistake that would only take a minute or two to fix. You have to maintain topic authority and make sure you don’t lose your readers respect by poorly written or neglected content.
When I come across simple mistakes in content it doesn’t always deter me from reading but I easily lose respect for the author. Am I really just wasting my time reading what you have to say? Do you really care about me as a reader or are you just providing content for your page? If you don’t care about me as a reader then why should keep reading what you have to say?
Don’t just waste your time providing content with a specific keyword density… spend your time creating great content that is entertaining and easy to read!
Have you ever heard of maddox.xmission.com?
You may have… his site gets over 250,000 visitors every month.
This guy doesn’t have a flashy site or great SEO but he’s spent time over the last 11 years creating great content for his readers. They read his content because they love him or they hate him, regardless he puts a lot of thought in to his content.
