How much can I make in affiliate marketing?

If you put the time in and wonder how much you can make in affiliate marketing the sky literally is the limit. If you don’t work much and work at your affiliate projects part time you can make money but you’re not going to make millions anytime soon. If you focus and really stay consistent you’re going to make more money than your average college graduate and you’ll enjoy it.

How much can I make in affiliate marketing?

how much can i make in affiliate marketing

This is only one advertiser paying me on one affiliate account, so you know.

Here is what you need to know when you’re starting out.

1. Traffic
2. Don’t worry about how you’re going to get paid
3. Understand that traffic is money
4. Start building traffic

Most people make the mistake of trying to figure out how they are going to get paid in affiliate marketing instead of how they are going to generate traffic and conversions. If you can generate traffic, especially targeted traffic you are going to make a fortune in affiliate marketing. Now you’re thinking, but if I don’t know how I’m going to get paid.. why waste my time? You are not wasting your time, you are accumulating the resources needed to succeed.

In affiliate marketing, how much you make depends on how much traffic you can generate.

Think about it like this…

1. You research, then select interstates with lots of vehicle traffic
2. You build a billboard on those interstates
3. Now you can put whatever ads you want on those billboards or let others pay you to place their ads

If you build a billboard on a highway that has no traffic… you’ll spend a lot of time and won’t make any money. If you target a highway with a lot of traffic but it already has a lot of billboards, it’s going to be more difficult to find a spot to put your billboard and it will cost you a lot more money to get your billboard somewhere it will be viewed easily.

This is the same thing on the internet, if you target keywords that have the following:

1. No traffic
- Waste of time, no one will visit
2. Lots of traffic but very competitive
- Will take you more time and money to establish yourself, which makes it more difficult to get traffic

If you’re asking yourself what do I need to make money and how much can I make in affiliate marketing, I’m going to tell you again, if you can generate traffic you can make money – a lot of it!

How to Get More Customers by Adding Value

To understand how to get more customers by adding value to your product or service you first need to know your product or service and what your customer wants from you. The best way to increase your customer base is by adding value that helps them meet their goals. If your customer is looking to save money, make money, get something done, automate a task or save time, save money or even entertainment, the best way to get more customers is to meet their needs.
how to get more customers

Simple ways to get more customers

1. Add significant value, meet their needs
2. Offer incentives for referrals, discount/prizes etc
3. Collect their information to market them directly
4. Create additional products or services to market to previous customers
5. Target your customers emotions

Get more profit from each of your customers

If you can sell each product for 30-50% more, you can increase your revenue by 30-50% without having to get more customers. This is a  strategy that is quite effective if you can keep your conversions in the same ballpark as you did before the increase in price. Now do people stop buying Pepsi just because of a 30% increase in price? Maybe… but usually if they are emotionally attached to it they will buy it anyway.

Example of a 50% price increase and a 17% decrease in conversion percentage with the same amount of visitors.

$50 product – 300 visitors – 6 sales = $300
$75 product – 300 visitors – 5 sales = $375

If you think you are tapped out on your current product or service try improving what your offering and sell an upgraded version to the same customer.  A good example would be buying a brand new car, you can start with the base model or you add additional options to the same vehicle for more money. This is the best way to get more customers to spend more money on the same product or service by adding value to it.
