NICHE MARKETING

My First Day Using Twitter for Marketing

Well, I finally broke down and started using Twitter for Marketing.
(See the Niche Titans on Twitter: @nichetitans!!!)

When I owned Link Building Bible, people had said to use Twitter for marketing purposes.  To be honest, I thought micro-blogging was lame.  It seemed pointless to me, and so I didn’t use it.  Link Building Bible had done fine without it, and so I never considered using something I thought was lame.

Boy, was I wrong!  Twitter is awesome.  It allows you to find cool people who are interested in the same things as you.  It’s like an RSS feedreader on crack.  Yah, people use it to spam, but it’s a few quick clicks, and you can no longer follow them.  I think Twitter Marketing can be very effective, if you can find a balance between making a connection with others and promoting your stuff.

Another great Twitter marketing tool is simply helping people who throw out questions on Twitter.  I forgot how I came across his Twitter account, but @tabpierce asked a simple question, and I contacted him, and answered it.  Then something amazing happened.  He thanked me to all of his followers, including my Twitter page.  Well, I’ve had like 6-7 of his followers already start following me!  Even further, one of them said they subscribed to this blog! (Thanks @sherryness!)  See how it could possibly go viral?

Stay tuned for some great Twitter tools that I have found that I use.  Subscribe to the blog below so you don’t miss out on those!

Before I talk about the top Greasemonkey scripts for Google Analytics, let me introduce Greasemonkey to you. Greasemonkey is a Firefox Addon that allows you to change different elements on a website through Javascript. As people make scripts to modify websites, they can share them with others, allowing you many options for modifying websites.

Alright, now that basics are out of the way, here are the top Greasemonkey scripts for Google Analytics (in no particular order):

1) Social Media Metrics For Google Analytics
Google Analytics shows many valuable stats for webmasters to see how well their site is doing. But, it doesn’t show many other metrics that are valuable in this Web 2.0 world, namely, social media metrics. Now you can see how many Diggs, Sphinns, Mixx Votes, Reddit Points, StumbleUpon reviews, Del.icio.us saves, and Yahoo inlinks. This is a valuable tool, and much easier to digg into your individual pages, in order to see how many backlinks you have for each of your internal pages.

2) Keyword Trends in Google Analytics

When doing niche marketing, the goal is to rise to the top of the search engines for certain keywords. Do you want to be able to know when you’ve rose higher in the search engines for the keywords you’re targeting and therefore getting more traffic? Well, with the Keyword Trends in Google Analytics Greasemonkey script, you can! It shows you the Keywords that have received 20% higher traffic over the last week. It also shows you which ones have dropped. This can be greatly valuable for finding keywords that you weren’t targetting, that you’re receiving traffic for. That way, you can optimize for those terms, and get even more traffic! This plugin also shows you an increase in visits from referring sites too.

3) Auto Access Google Analytics
Recently, Google made it quicker to access Google Analytics, not requiring you to login for Analytics specifically, if you are already logged into your Google account. All you have to do is press a blue button that says “Access Analytics.” Well, they say, “Time is money,” so to speed up your time when viewing Google Analytics, here is an awesome Greasemonkey script for Google Analytics that will automatically press that button for you, saving you some time and hand movements. It may not save too much time, but for the Analytics freak who accesses their web analytics many times a day, this can save a lot of time.

Those are some very valuable niche marketing tools, but here is a Firefox addon that compiles these scripts and others to increase your Google Analytics experience:

Better Google Analytics Addon
It includes #’s 1 and 3 above, plus other scripts that may be useful for the internet marketer.

Let me know what you think of these plugins! Also, are there any other valuable tools you can think of for Google Analytics? Let me know, and I can include it here or in a new post, and I’ll give you a backlink to your site for your help!
